i would rather go barefoot than run in chucks. yikes. I don't know what I do to mine, they seem to self-destruct within 3 months.
I have heard they are good for squats, I do mostly bodyweight/endurance stuff, though.

I don't get the point of fashion-y suits. I mean, some of them look cool and all but where can you actually wear them? For example if you work in a really conservative office, it would be frowned upon, but if it's casual dress code it would be weird wearing a suit at all.

I am not a part of corporate America or anything so I'll have to defer to those with experience here but what kind of office would get upset about a modern fashion suit? Most people can't even tell/wouldn't even notice. Unless you're talking about something with a crazy print or pattern. But beyond that I can't imagine anyone batting an eye. Also the point is probably not to wear to the office but in probably any other context you can think of.

nailed it. Suits for everyday wear, like instead of jeans and a t-shirt sort of. Example: all of YYPH s/s09, it's a full collection of re-interpretations of suits and they're all more or less for casual wear. It's all in the details, deconstruction, fabric choices. I think it's great, this is partly where I'm heading atm.

Got some Japanese hair products (Shiseido) so here's hoping that stuff works on beating humidity and keeping my hair's shape. Annoying as hell having to push my hair off my face all the time.
If you work in finance you will never get away with fashion-forward ****. They get all sorts of angry if you try to get fancy without being the boss. Law probably is a bit difficult too. I'd imagine most other places no one will even notice though, or just comment on how you're wearing a little boys suit. Also it's pretty fun to wear suits for the **** of it just not in summer.

i think it depends on the country too. I recently moved to the UK and i have seen more skinny ties, slim fit suits and pointy dress shoes in a month than i've seen in the last 21 years in the US.
i actually interviewed with a financial advising company yesterday, and almost all the young advisers were wearing slim suits, slim or skinny ties, and pointy slim-lasted dress shoes, nobody seemed to mind.
also, a bit late to the converse discussion, but i've never found them uncomfortable. i wore them all through high school, and even wore them a few times during PE to run when i forgot my running shoes, i just ended up with sore feet (and possible blisters if we ran more than a mile). i've since stopped wearing them though because i have to wear size 11 in chucks, and i feel like it makes me look like i have clown feet. maybe if i had smaller feet i'd still wear them.

Been using Korean brands for now since I figured there can't be too much of a difference. Fed up with my hair not holding well though so I made the change. Shiseido is more popular than Gatsby in Japan from what my experience was so I figure it might be the better one. Anyways gonna give it a try tonight and see if it lasts more than an hour.
