OP,
-Marry that salesgirl if you can since you both like paisley.
-Sorry to read about your father (rest his soul)
-I like paisley ties too.
-Agreed, that when wearing paisley ties, match them with a quiet shirt and suit or jacket.

I used to dislike paisley but I found a few nice paisley ties at the thrift store and have grown to appreciate them. I think every man should have at least 1 paisley item in their wardrobe. i'm personally fond of floral patterned ties. of course, they can't be too ugly otherwise I won't buy them

I like many paisley patterns, but not all of them.

This is one of my favourite ties, from Mountain & Sackett.

I love paisley and have legions of paisley ties, many with striking contrast (dark blues with yellow ect.)

I recently scored 2 Brioni gold thread (38% oro) paisley ties at a Nieman Marcus Last Call in Miami. The sales girl was a really striking (of the super pretty variety) petite latina as well - but alas I am already married.

There is a thread at AskAndy with lots of paisley tie photos

I find the paisley prints I usually see, such as the tie posted above, to be overly bombastic in repetition and colours

That said, the relatively more relaxed prints that one can find at RLPL or Hackett tend to interest me. And one of my sock pairs does feature an "outline" version of paisley that I quite like
