Am I the only one who likes paisley?

A couple of weeks ago a pretty young salegirl helped me pick a nice paisley purple/light blue David Donahue tie to match my new MTM shirt. Well, today I bought a pair of Robert Graham deep purple paisly socks.

The funny thing, when my dad pasted away the funeral director would not even put a paisley tie on my father (God Rest His Soul) to be buried.

Am I the only person who likes paisly?

The socks I bought is the style in the middle

I like paisley, though it has to be warn cautiously. Mixed with other patterns and it can quickly become a mess.

Depends. More often than not, it tends to be ugly. But a nice paisley, like an Ancient Madder, can be very tasteful.

I still don't tend to wear it.

There is elegant paisley and there is fun paisley. But, watch out for the dreaded ugly paisley

When done well it can be outstanding. I have used in for suit linings, ties and socks. I have recently been drawn to the monochrome paisley, like the Kent Wang Navy Grenadine.

I love paisley, but it all depends on the person wearing it. If the person is a quiet, kind of reserved person, the paisley looks incredibly out of place. I've worn bold paisley with a suit before and received many, many compliments. However, I'm also tall, fairly skinny, and have a very bold personality, so it hardly looked out of place.

I always wondered how the paisley pattern was first discovered.

I've tried to get on board with the love for only those things conservative enough to bore an accountant, but I love paisley. Sure, there are ugly ones, but I find things tasteful that many here would claw out their eyes in reaction to.

I like paisley but in small doses, I have a few paisley ties and even a pair of braces that are paisley but I often find it mard to match things with so I tend not to wear that much of it.
