Will a deep british racing green coloured tie work with a pinstriped navy suit?

Title pretty much says it all, will a dark british racing green solid coloured tie work with a white shirt and a navy suit with pinstripes? Obviously dark greens work nicely with grey, but I've never used it with dark blue before.

It's fine with the suit but it would look better with a blue or pink (or cream) rather than white shirt.

I've done it with pink. Perhaps a bit louder than most people's taste, but I think the basic combination of colors (navy, dark green, and pink) works well.

I like the idea with the pink shirt and have done it myself. I think there needs to be a pattern in there somewhere. Like pink an white striped shirt, or a patterned green tie. Definitely a tie clip.

I've also tried it with all the above. Personally, I wasn't too keen with the green/pink combo. It works fine, but didn't quite sing to me. Blue and cream are great shirts with a green tie/navy suit though. White can be a trifle stark with them, I agree.

But, Holdfast, "Pink and Green is AWESOME!!!!"

I am sure you remember that, it was the rallying cry of the '80s prepster.
