But I posted them because I thought the soles were very interesting. I wonder if they were made for a special purpose.

This is how you should care for the shoes in this thread.

From a tailor in Manila who is working on opening a comprehensive bespoke "haberdashery":

Comfortable enough to wear sockless for some all day walking in serious heat and humidity (Manila and Hong Kong). Pictured here on a HK subway, which may be my world-favorite system:

They're made of nubuck, which he had on hand for a previous order, and which I thought would be good for a casual shoe. I think they turned out well. These are blake-stitched. He's obsessively working on either goodyear or hand welting. I'll be posting some clothes from him in the next few weeks.

I have seen it in person, they are great causal shoes. Especially by that price.

my first Lobbs, St. James, on the courtesy of Spoo Pokers big Lobb sale.

in exchange for this custom made paprikas by Master Kiss.

thanks again, spoo

to the Lobbs: unfortunately the previous owner didn't care for them, oh well

they will go to my cobbler to bespeak the heel adjustement. also one heel is a bit loose.

craftmanship is good or at least on par with my personal standards.

i love the whole story. it's clearly in the spirit of my project.

thanks again,

Thanks guys. THanks again for lunch, Fishball! And finally, thanks to BBaquiran for introducing me to the maker. When he is ready to unveil his company, it will make quite an impression and hopefully provide a lot of jobs!
