FAZ vom 03. April 2004 Die Romanhandlung setzt 1941 ein, als Hitler - vor dem Rußlandfeldzug - auf dem Höhepunkt seiner Macht steht. Damals in den "Roaring Forties" konnte man scheinbar allein mit einer schwarzen Uniform die Frauen um den Finger wickeln: "Das holde Blond bevorzugt den schwarzen Ritter", wie der Personalchef des SS-Hygiene-Instituts feststellt, bevor er dem frisch eingestellten Chemiker Karl Fußmann den Berechtigungsschein für die "todschicke", von Hugo Boss geschneiderte Uniform ausstellt. Doch Fußmann macht von dieser "Lizenz zum blonden Geschlecht" wenig Gebrauch, da er mit der brünetten Johanna verlobt ist, einer Operettensängerin und Modenärrin, die mit "Kraft durch Freude"-Dampfern tourt und von der teutonischen "Wende zum Wams" fasziniert ist. Ach, SS-Mann müßte man gewesen sein? (...) Heikel an Kunkels Roman ist nicht allein der Stoff als solcher und auch nicht die beschränkte Perspektive. Daß man auch aus der Innensicht über das Dritte Reich einen gelungenen Roman schreiben kann, hat etwa Marcel Beyer mit "Flughunde" bewiesen. Problematisch am ersten, in Deutschland spielenden Teil ist eher, daß Kunkel Stoff und Form zu verwechseln scheint. Das Pornographische ist nur sichtbarster Ausdruck der Lebensphilosophie einer dekadenten Kaste, die im Vögeln statt im Krieg das Heil erblickt, deren einziges Nachschubproblem den Kokainvorrat betrifft, während sie in der "Lumpihütte" am Obersalzberg eine orgiastische "Zickenverlade" steigen läßt - "Sieg Geil" hat Lotte auf ihr Hinterteil tätowiert. Indem er sich den verschwitzten Kasino-Ton seiner Protagonisten zu eigen macht und die Trash-Ästhetik als Freibrief für "Naturszenen" aller Art versteht, wird in seinem Roman das Dritte Reich selbst zur Liebhabervorführung: Feiern, bis der SS-Arzt kommt? weiter:FAZ.net
