Good morning, everyone. I hope it is all right that my first post be made here, but you see I have a penchant for vests and it would seem as though I cannot locate this one, or a similar one, anywhere. Would any of you happen to know of it, or ones similar to it? The vest here is from Band of Outsiders.

Cheers.

This is normal for crap brands. Don't know if its normal for HB deck shoes though

Hi, first time posting and this looked like the proper thread to post this question in:

Today I bought a light blue polo shirt and a pair of tan khaki shorts. I have a black belt and was wondering if a pair of white shoes would look ok or not. I bought these clothes purely to go in my golfing attire wardrobe and I use a pair of white golf shoes at the moment. Should I buy black ones to match my belt or are white shoes fine in this instance? Everywhere I look it seems the fashion rule book dictates that belts match shoes and this now has me confused.

Thanks in advance!

I don't think it's necessarily critical to match golf shoes with your belt, but some will certainly disagree. I would not wear a black belt with light blue and khaki though. I'd put on a brown belt. Some would suggest a white or tan belt too, maybe a cloth belt.

I'm assuming the lighter the belt color in this instance the better? Thanks for the reply.

Hi, first thanks for all the input this forum has provided. And accordingly now a newbie question of sorts.

Q: If I want a pair of pants to have no break (or almost no break in the real moving world) would all I have to do is shorten them as in hemming them? I mean is any other alteration involved to achieve no break? I ask this because when I pin my pants to the desired length it seems that the balance is thrown off on the leg or the leg hole seems off. I guess its just the pins doing this, put I wonder if making a slanted or some other alteration (tapering?) is also needed.

it"s all about the hemming.
though, if you are hemming your trousers really short you would want them to taper a little to prevent too much flapping around when walking.

Dont know if this is the right place but any good threads to steal avatars from?

As for clothes questions, Recommendation on good belts? Bought my first Brooks belt which to say my first belt over 15 dollars. And I cant believe the difference its like wearing nothing. I used to hate belts but if you willing to fork out the money they arent that bad, any other brands to look for?

And I'm serious about stealing all you guys avatars! Thanks!

I wont get band for that will I?

QQ: Size 30:30 jeans are always a tab too long... and I don't usually see 30:29, like ever. any tips or sites that sell "shorter" jeans that would fit perfect.

Just buy 30x30 and get them hemmed. Any tailor or alteration shop should be fine, and it won't cost you any more than $10 or $15.

Has this shirt expired? Significant wrinkling on the collar for one of my AC shirt batches. Looks worse in real life. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
