Is there a level of formality with respect to the style of barrel cuffs and the number of buttons and also whether the sleeve placket has a button?

I'm thinking of doing rounded barrel cuffs with one center button and maybe no button on the sleeve plackets on my next shirt. Any problem with this on an OCD button down?

1. yes

2. no problem, it's your shirt. in my pow the placket button is a signature of RTW and it's unnecessary in the sense of function. i don't find them elegant, too.

A little bit shorter in case there is no gauntlet button. Otherwise, it looks irregular like you have forgotten to sew a button.

That extra long cuff is top elegant for the next ;

I am 1,92 meters tall, so most of the times on usual long cuffs, the sewn of the cuff with the sleeve is seen all the time, with that extra long , just the cuff is seen. Top!!

Yes, or for me. Barrel cuffs ( rounded ) super sporty, placket on the buttons, mega sporty . I hate both

And button down, the thing I hate most on shirts. Sorry to say. Fritz will agree.

I'm not sure I understand this - not saying it's not true, but how does a placket button (gauntlet button) achieve a function in RTW that would be superfluous for a custom shirt? I get placket buttons because I find it more elegant than a long unbuttoned placket that gapes open and shows the arm. The long placket seems necessary to be able to roll up sleeves, especially for tall men or men with long arms.
