I never undrestood the hype for Hermes ties having those desings.

If was another brand, some of you will accuse of D-bag.

i don't think hermes animal cartoon ties will ever be laughably outdated, but they are now firmly a cliche, and the province of the conservative but uninspired dresser who thinks that it conveys classic refinement. (it did... 15-20+ years ago.)

hermes knows this, which is why they have been increasingly diversifying their tie offerings away from the printed-silk animal farm.

i wouldn't be caught dead wearing one.

(i will grant, though, that elderly parisian gentlemen have the right to still wear hermes cartoon ties and still embody classic refinement!)

I like the ties, but I definitely prefer the animal prints on a pocket square.

More than humans or mosquitoes?

I like the pocket square a lot. I have never liked the ties before but have seen a few recently that I like but would not know how to wear.

I disagree.

There are great animal patterns from other brands that are very wearable. For example, Brooks Brothers, Andrew's Ties, and Ferragamo. One of my favorites is a Cardin (I know) mustard colored with snails... superb quality, the hi end Cardin made in France.

Maybe, maybe not. Many would view the whimsical-ness as a sign of confidence to wear it.
