Hi im new here and to the in depth world of denim in general. i am a fan of Levis 514s and 511s as well as some of their premium stuff but id like to get my feet wet in the ocean of raw denim.

with that being said i know that raw denim sizes are different from regular washed jeans. i usually wear 30-32 around the waist with 30 fitting tight, 31 feeling perfectly snug, and 32 requiring a belt. length wise 30 needs to be sagged a bit and 32 needs to be cuffed. im 5'8 and 135lbs. my favorite color jeans are dark blue (indigo?) and shades of gray.

now my questions, what brands to you guys suggest for a noob like me who doesnt wanna break the bank but wants respectable jeans to start off in? also, what sizing should i be looking in raw denim and the suggested jeans(if different brands run unique in sizing like shoes)?

much thanks in advance

i think you just asked us to sum up half of this board. i recommend you read the board and look at pics. When you have a specific brand you get into based on reports and the pictures and all that, read how people are sizing that brand.

a cross-brand fit chart could be compiled, but each brand can differ from model to model and from year to year.

by the way, i'm almost exactly your measurements. what are these premium brands you've already dipped into?

There is a thread all about sub $200 raw denim. Search for that then ask about the one or two pairs that really interest you so that people who actually own them can help you out a bit.

Symmetry is king so it shouldn't be a problem

I am trying to decide on my first raw denims. I am looking at Eternal 811, Samurai S0500XX, Fullcount 1108, and Momotoro 703. Hoping someone could help me with how much these will stretch after the initial soak? Will they all stretch about an inch, or will one stretch more than the others? Thanks.

He came in looking for Nudie help. No one helped him, they just told him to get apcs. Why are you surprised he's getting nudies?

The difference between Nudie and APC denim is negligible. They're both ******

The Dry Dirt Organic denim on the Grim Tims is pretty nice actually.
