It is much more difficult to have an excellent fitting with a seamless pair of shoes.
And because of the difficulty involved to make a seamless shoe, i.e. there is no margin for any error as the leather is in one piece, the durability can also be affected if not done by someone at the top of his art.

I think that DWFII and eventually Marcel, should be able to give us more hindsights in proper english, and not in some broken language like I would do.

I think what you are describing is the process of fitting. However once you have a last down, I don't see why stretching a piece of leather one way versus the other will create a different fitting shoe. Durability wise, I agree with you. Seamless back will be much more stressed versus with seam, there fore logically durability will be poor. However I think the debate is rather academic, aesthetics is what dictates this choice more than anything.

Even when you have your own last, every trial pair shows that there are some adjustments to be made, at least that is the case for me. I am a bit a-retentive and I've never had a trial pair that was perfect, thus I won't go with a full seamless, as Anthony might get a bit nervous at the idea of having to create 2 or 3 pairs until I am fully satisfied. And those nip-ticking/fitting adjustments are easier to be done when there are seams.
And yes I do agree with you, it is more a question of aesthetics than anything else as most of us who go the bespoke way have largely enough pairs in order to not having to outwear any of them.

whether you are retentive or not. this is the case, at least from my experience.
