The Herring are also my favorites, just not as good for the hot summer months as the Alden unlined chukkas.

If you stay here on SF for a few months you'll be giving those to the Salvation Army and at least kopping some GT's at minimum.

Nice chukkas. I really need to grow out of my Clarks and get some real ones.

They are the 46 last which I have not tried on. I wear a 10D Barrie and have a pair of Rider Boots Chukka's on last 4A that fits at 10.5 and have tried on the 95 last and I also wear a 10.5 in that last. So they seem to fit a half size larger than Barrie or true to size. I wear them weekly with suits.

Ron is great to work with. I am not sure he knows the Alden fitting but, luckily, it seems his distribution has grown to stores that sell Alden so he probably knows more than in the past.

I would like to stress that I love Alden, but Rider Boots have a better finish and seem more elegant.

I assure you they aren't, they're tapered and they stack cleanly on on shoes. They're just bunched weirdly in that pic.

Nice catch.

Seems like the cool ones are always near impossible to track down

+1 Ron is a great guy

Jet just email him he is awesome to deal with and his MTO program is top notch, designs are great and he can hand burnish alot of stuff as an extra too.

The store he works with stock saphir cremes too, which are easily the best.

I've been trying to get people on the Ron Rider jock for ages

Yeah I picked up some Saphir creams from him this year and they are noticeably better than the Meltonian.
