correction:

There is a TON of cheap and cheerful to eat, which is nice.

I liked haven gastropub and enjoy the enviornment, going to try the crosby tonight.

Places like AOC, haven, etc. I really enjoy because you can just go in, chill, and eat some good food that's not ridiculously expensive.

LA peeps, I need your help ! Anyone willing to do me a huge favor and pick up something for me at Confederacy ?

I can provide in exchange : eternal gratitude / money / returning the favor if you need anything from Belgium (dries, schneider, beers, chocolate, waffles, ...)

valhalla is solid. Some good drafts, and their sausage is made in haus. Not quite the vibe of wurskutche, but its a nice change of pace for OC. Check it out.

Pizza orteca is amazing, from a well known chef( comme ca is his main spot) but i forget his name.
Eat chow is good, except for being in the closet (somehomo)
all the ramen/yakitori spots

all the garden grove spots
tacos for days
golden truffel is interesting, wish they had lunch.

I work by south coast, so Ive been to about every spot. Any other rec's down this way? Going to give lolagaspar a try soon.

LOL pizza ortica, guy tried to do a rip of mozza (which is 10x better) but in oc. At least they're trying but it was not memorable so haven't been back while I've been to mozza about 30x.

mozza isnt the first place to do gourmet wood fired pizza.
They just have the best PR and the names to hype it up.

And you dont have to wait till 1030 to get a table at ortica.

just got back from valhalla, and i dont recommend the buffalo pistachio.

Bro I don't taste hype or pr when I eat the pizza at mozza.

Ortica was so try hard and fail it's not even funny. My buddy said the same thing and he drives all the way from orange to la just to eat at pm.

I'd rather have quality pepperoni and sausage than any of that gourmet stuff. Fortunately the sausage at mozza is awesome.
