Was watching the Open last night. Wow, when Tiger and Phil are having a hard time? And I see the announced the pupil for the next Hank Haney. Rush Limbaugh. This will be epic.

Hitting the course for nine par 3 holes tomorrow.

Thanks. We're both interested to see how taking it to the course works.

are you going with your pro or just the two of you?

regardless, just enjoy the time and don't get too down on yourself if (ie. when) things go astray.

Pio, how'd the round go.

hit up 9 before a bday party tonight. shot 43. missed 5 putts inside 10ft that would've saved par.

We had a great time. Had a few **** ups (of course) but just a great time. Mrs. Piob got herself a couple of boogies, did some good chipping and putting. She had a couple of nice tee offs.

My first tee off, was a 143 yard hole. Picked my five wood. As you all are thinking, over clubbed. Okay, that threw me off a bit, so I just tee'ed up with my six iron. Put it just off the skirt of the green. A little chip, nice put and my very first hole I got an "up and down" for par.

Should have stopped there and walked away a winner.

Another whole was a 128 yard so I used a 7 iron on the tee. Great shot except I pushed it. Now, keep in mind, very narrow fairways, par 3 exec course. Went into a tree bordering the fairway and got stuck in the tree. Could not believe it.

I kept over clubbing myself.

All in all, fun. Greens were by and large ****. Flat and tilted at what Mrs. Piob (civil engineer) says was at least a 5 degree grade. So putting was hell. We started almost like two games. If we got it on the green in two, we figured we did well. Then a 2-3 putt we considered good, given the nature of the greens. I mean, we have spent several hours at a real golf course on their very large putting practice area and did much better.

Next week, maybe nine holes at a real golf course

Sounds like a good time, and performance wise that sounds quite nice for a first time out

just two things:
boogies= bogeys
tee off = teeshot

otherwise you got the lingo right

and, you got the one thing all golfers do right on the first time out!!!

blaming bad scores on the green (or pretty much on anything else except the player himself

Is there anything you're not good at?

Of course, this means you must bring your clubs.
