They only say 'varietal' in the USA, so I'd stick with the original.
... and I'd mostly agree, but I do prefer Italian versions of French red grape wines.

Understood. But the test has been repeated on the same wines several times since then and even the French judges have softened up a bit. I'm just sayin', the second law sounds more like the British disregard for brown shoes than the rather more cut and dried "No black suits.".

True. The whole thing is interesting though. Like the 30 year rematch. They had a dual-city rematch, LA and London, right? Why not Napa, first off, since that is where the wine is from, but it also seems funny that they didn't do the retasting in Paris. I've heard its because Spurrier was blacklisted in the Parisian wine scene after the JoP, but I really doubt the veracity of that claim.
