Best of luck to your wife. I know how it is because my wife is a music teacher. Last year she helped organize teachers in her district to fight deep cuts to the arts program. They, with the help of a local news reporter, managed to get the school board to reinstate all the arts teachers that were cut (the superintendent lied about numbers and then claimed ignorance when confronted with the facts at a board meeting). I'm just waiting for the day that people wake up and realize how important the arts are for our children. The fettering of the intellectual or creative development of our future generations is not the way to manage our current economic crisis.
