hi everyone...i'm tryin to understand what model(not necessary in the current line) of persol wear Cary Grant in the famous Alfred Hitchcock's movie...

i don't know,i think not,if are 649....i can't identify the classic "bridge" of the 649(with two "humps")...
there is a similar model in the actual line, the 2961s,but they're different most of all in the connecting part between the anterior-frontal frame and the two sticks,in the 2961 this part is too much high...

but they are all suppositions...so...help me if you can...

they're for sure not 714.
the 714 are folding sunglasses, and the one in the film they're not...the 714 is also slightly different from the 649 in the bridge with chromed hardware...

if they would be in the 649/714 range, they'll be the 649

i personally found many errors..such as wayfarers or others...the only thing that is for sure is that they are Persol

They are definitely not the 649's. The bridge is all wrong.

I suspect they are no longer available as part of Persol's regular collection - they do not appear to be on their site at this time, neither as regular sunglasses nor as iconic ones. You might find them vintage somewhere.

in fact,i say that if the would be in the 649-714 range, they probably will be much more the 649 instead the 714...

the bridge looks different..but another reason of confusion is the fact that in some picture the two humps of the bridge of the 649 are not well distinguishable

They're definitely not model 714 or 649.

714/649 are the same except 714s are the the folding version. These two were made famous by McQueen in The Thomas Crown Affair.

Grant's in NBNW look completely different.

yes,we know....and i repeat, the question is not the brand, the brand is persol for sure...
there is the 2961s in the current line, but the frame-sticks connecting zone(on the external side of the "olive" looks different(too high, and it would be thinner)

I'm sure this movie pre-dates most of the current range of designs offered by Persol, and Grant's pair doesn't look like any current model. There are loads of discontinued designs and this pair resembles some that I've seen. It almost looks like the Ratti 850, but isn't.

i've searched for the 850....it could be right, but the 850 doesn't have the classic persol "arrow" but have a normal and vertical "olive"....

How is it Persol "for sure?" The temple detail doesn't have the Persol arrow or the meflecto bridges. I don't know how you could even think they're the 649/714s, the shape isn't even close.
