Rolex are excellent sports watches. I think it really is a matter of taste and of course also if you will find a 2nd time zone useful. I have one of each, like to bring the Sub for beach vacations and find the GMT2 a bit "dressier", more suitable for some stylish casual wear. I would normally not wear a watch on bracelet with suit and shirt.

Considering that you can get a Sub now but would need to save a few months for the GMT2, I would get the Sub now. You'll satisfy the Rolex itch promptly and you will not stretch yourself beyond a reasonable watch budget.

I'd get the sub.

Old sub at current MSRP is a ripoff IMHO, so many better options.

If you absolutely have to have a Rolex then go for any of the updated models, but again so many other better choices out there when spending that kind of money IMHO.
