Manual winding is desirable in my opinion, especially if it has a display back. No rotor to obstruct your view. Also the daily wind is something you start to look forward to, i am sure like how some look forward to polishing their shoes.

I prefer manual winding. It's part of my morning routine.

Two watches for manual winding. Same 8 day JLC movement in both.

okay I need some advise...

I'm within striking distance to get a rolex sub, the former model- not the new ceramic bezel ones and no rolex-hate comments please, but I've been also looking at the new GMT2 which would put my budget back a bit but I can probably afford to get in a few more months. now I'm stumped on whether to get the sub or wait out for the gmt2.

GMT2 probably gets the most wrist time of all my watches.

A sub vote here. Not a fan of the polished center links on the GMT II.
