The shoes which were referred to in this post are being refinished by the maker and will be reposted when received in their final condition. The maker was on a tour of the USA when they were collected and the shop assistant was not aware they were unfinished.

This looks a bit like when I first tried to antique a pair of shoes and I didn't take the time and prep to remove the original treatment around the fringes

That is one of the nicest burgundy based colours I have ever seen....so complex is the mixture of tones...meraviglioso!
