but I roll with a cooler group

But it was at Eleven Madison Park, home of newly-crowned "Best Chef, New York" Daniel Humm, where everyone wound up at the end: the ersatz dancefloor was packed, the bar was a free-for-all, and Daniel Buloud (who picked up Oustanding Restaurant for Daniel) dancing on a table, was spraying everyone (including Thomas Keller) with champagne.

Wet earth on the nose, the most delicious raspberry swirl in my mouth, with many of tenets that make a good Pinot a good Pinot. Lots of bright, red fruit, balanced with gentle tannins. Lovely.

Just saw the Kermit Lynch episodes of WLTV. Man that guy is awesome. I like the way he tastes--- not feeling the need to describe 100 different flavors or aromas, but describing the wine in great detail otherwise.
And onto that Les Pallieres Racines..... I am certainly happy to have a bottle courtesy of a friend.

That video makes me want to pick up more. And at only $25- just crazy.

Kermit really is an incredible person and jedi of wine. I love how he stopped buying California wines because he didnt want to hurt his friends feelings! After watching I was compelled to order that gigondas but of course it was sold out.

Yes. Made me want a bottle. Sadly KL doesn't ship here and at other places I've found online it's at least $10 more before shipping. Going to keep an eye out for it though.

I've never seen it at $25. Always between 30 and 40. K&L wines has tons, and they ship.

Is this drinking well now or does it need some additional cellar time?

Btw, after two late nights for work and no wine, I SHALL HAVE A BOTTLE TONIGHT!

So, there are three that are available right now. The 2006 is the one Pio posted. Excellent year, perhaps not as epic as 2007. This bottling is the entire vineyard, which is what they did until 2007. Drinks very well now and for another 15 or so years. The 2007 is split into Racines and Terrases de Diable. The former is what I have, what they reviewed and what Kyle has. Apparently, it also drinks very well now, is quite forward, and will last for a good two decades. The other is more closed, but equally good. Not for current consumption, give it five years before trying. At least, that is what I have been told.
