Thanks Andre that's exactly how I learned to do it too. Just wanted to add also that I learned too to keep your thumbs from wrapping around the wheel. If you get in to a skid or crash and the wheel snaps around while your thumb is on the inside of the wheel, you could break it. It also makes keeping your hands in the proper position on the wheel slightly easier while in a turn.

No pics but this morning I pull out of my drive and noticed parked on the street a beautiful 70's navy blue Roll Royce. It was gorgeous. Later as I proceeded on my way, I passed a beautiful early 80's MB 240D in pristine condition. Seeing those cars got my day off to a great start.

Ditto. I'd add that I was also taught to keep a hands' width between my head and the ceiling. All this has me seated closer and higher than what I've seen the typical driver. One of my pet peeves is guys sitting so far back and so low that the B-pillar impedes their visibility - see that a LOT here in Chicago.

Nice. How is the suspension on long trips and such? The prices on CPOs seem to be pretty reasonable lately so I've been getting tempted. A friend of mine has a Z4 roadster and I was surprised at how enjoyable the car was even with just the 2.5L. I can only imagine how much fun it would be with nearly double the hp!

The Porsche 911 code 993 turbo s, is the best 911 ever. Nice taste. What a kick it has, not as modern ones.

What's not to like about the 2011 GT? It's an incredible car at an incredible price. It would go well with my longwings.

The stiff suspension is fine on road trips; less so in town if the roads are bad.

Yeah, isn't it awesome? Lister took a Jaguar XJ-S and offered a variety of modifications, from trim-only mods, to engine and suspension mods. A full-house version, like that blue one (really, they are very rare) was around 200,000 GBP. Nowadays they sell in the 30-50k GBP range, but are still hard to find (though I see two sold just recently, and a red one is for sale). I particularly love it when Lister lowers the trunk lid to give the car a wing, and that is really, really really rare -- more often they make the car a fastback, and get rid of the vertical rear window and the flying buttresses that I love. Naturally, the rear end had to be tubbed out and flared to accomodate the huge rear tires. Sometimes Lister messed with the nose/headlight arrangement to get a better Cv, but I don't really like that. But the way that beautiful V-12 looks with a twin-screw supercharger hanging off the outboard side of each intake is.....and it corrects that particular -12's one deficiency: it doesn't breathe well, stock. With the screws, it's cranking out over 700HP and good for over 220MPH -- in '89! They made convertibles, too. Some more pics of that blue one. Serious pron. I want it so incredibly badly.
