It was a really long day at work so this is how I decided to wind down.

Kitonbrioni might have a case.

Good choice. I'm finishing up a bottle of Lagavulin 16 now.

Okay - dug out the Macallan cask strength, a splash of water, and I'm taking it easy now, after filing the taxes.

Tuesday night, Velvet Tango Room, "Tango style" manhattan:

One of about a dozen cocktails. Was a fantastic night.

FWIW, the Aviators I make at home, taste exactly like the one I had there. Also, we were able to purchase a bottle of home made VTR bitters.

Completely forgot about the Wonderlust cocktail I always have when I go to Absinthe in SF, probably because I've never made it, just ordered many of them. It's made with Bols Genever. Come to think of it, if I just go to Small Hands Foods and get some pineapple gum, I could make one myself.

my in-laws had a bottle of Johnny Walker Black mysteriously appear in their fridge. none of them are interested in the stuff so i took i off their hands. never been much of a scotch guy but i'll give it a try.

side note: is it ruined by spending a few weeks in the refridgerator? will i hurt it further by letting it come back up to room temp?

It'll come back to life, shouldn't be a problem after only a couple weeks.

I'm drinking a classic right now - Cutty and Water

Yesterday afternoon I had a couple of pints of Wild Ride IPA and a couple of pints of another IPA, second was much better, just wish I could remember what it was.

1998 Corton-Bressandes from Chandon de Briailles.

I've always liked their stuff, red and whites. Sadly, the 1998s, while 100x better than Parker's minion said they were, are not anywhere near the best from that difficult vintage.
