Neah, they're bellied. It will be more obvious when I wear it next...which, given the overdue warmup, will be next fall...

I love the way your DB's are cut Bill. Love that cloth, too. Is that the same stuff that Heismatt had made into a SB suit, but in a different color?

Thank you. Poo went for the Minnis gray dogtooth...I had ordered the same dogtooth just before did, but it has taken all this time to get to forward fitting, which will be in a couple of weeks. I had a number of orders from last year that I held up in the hopes that Ron Hardy would recover from his illness (Ron was the tailor for the stuff Edwin DeBoise cut for me,) so Matt got his first. Ron died recently, I am sad to say. Some items from that old order are now being finished by one of Edwin's new tailors.

This Minnis spot effect is from that old order, but was ready a bit earlier. I do believe iammatt had this as well in his infamous what-should-I-get? thread but I don't believe he's had anything made up in it.

I'm not wearing suspenders today. So, you got the break for which you have been lobbying. It is within the range of what I consider okay (for myself, that is...others may break away with abandon.)

Perhaps he needs a spanking.

I don't think there's a bad cloth in the whole Minnis Flannel book

Well, the way to think about it that I would suggest is that even with suspenders, and especially without, the hem is not going to be miraculously glued to the millimeter at their photographed termination. Pants tend to drop rather than rise, which is why I personally dislike anything more than shiver of a break.

I would rather have a shiver then a plus, rather than a break and then a puddling at the shoe.

I don't see this as a rule, just a personal preference type of thing, one that might also be related to culture a tad.

I just thought I would post this because it looks so different from Montesquieu's stuff from the poll thread. The jacket is going back for some adjustments next week.

I agree but I think the real stars are the two cloths like Vox's suit (what I would call a mini graph check though "spot effect" gets the point across) and the 13oz chalk stripes in dark grey, mid/airforce blue, and brown. If I had more closets, time, and money, I would order DBs in all of them.
