A lot of the vocal trance I like lately is older, I haven't heard anything new that's been really inspiring... although there is some good stuff on www.di.fm

These are a few good ones:
Inside of Me, Spacecorn vs Artificial (murder remix)
Such is Life, Rank 1

I generally think vocals are cheesy, but then mainstream trance is cheesy. There is Infected Mushroom - "IM The Supervisor" and "Blink". Infected started out in psytrance but is now sui generis -- it is very accessible to those not familiar with psytrance.

Trance (especially the kind with vocals) is the pop music of the electronic music genre. It's meant to appeal to the masses and fill clubs. Over the years I've seen all the top trance DJ's (PVD, Oakenfold, Armin, Tiesto, etc) and they don't put any effort into it. They know they don't have to put together even a halfway decent performance to sell tickets or fill the dance floor.

Some of these are not entirely trance.........good vocal electronic music nonetheless:

N-Trance - "Set You Free"
Delirium - "Silence"
4 Strings - "Take Me Away"
Ian Van Dahl - "Reason"
Deepest Blue - "Deepest Blue"
Freeloaders - "So Much Love To Give"
Uniting Nations - "Out Of Touch"
Armand Van Helden - "My My My"
Sunloverz - "Shining Song"
Astroline - "Close My Eyes"
Ian Van Dahl - "Castles"
DJ Encore - "I See Right Through You"
Lasgo - "Something"
Lee Cabrera - "I Watch You"
LMC - "Take Me To The Clouds Above"
Alice Deejay - "Better Off Alone"
Oceanlab - "Satellite"

I have tons more that I love..........check these out on iTunes, although most would already be familiar with them.

Delirium - "Silence" is a good one.

So is "As the Rush Comes".

Tiesto has a couple good remixes, and his In Seach of Sunrise albums are an okay listen.

However, the majority of vocal trance is some sappy, weak ass stuff - I prefer breaks, psytrance, drum n bass, etc.

The only good thing about vocal trance is that its easy as hell to mix.

Even worse, man. The vocalists are wannabe pop singers that can't cut it by themselves in pop and have to team up with a trance producer.

I've always enjoyed the DJ Doboy vocal mixes. Not really a single song, but each mix seems to be pretty solid.

No, not really. Alot of the "pop" singers in trance are in their own groups and quite often have #1 euro-chart singles. Not all trance artists are DJs who use random women in their compositions. More often than not, the seemingly "random" women are Scandinavian/Danish/German, etc. pop stars in their own right, they just aren't big enough to be known here in the U.S.

We must not be listening to the same tracks. Yes, I check Discogs.

Michele Adamson, for example, is huge on the fringes of psytrance (featured on several Infected Mushroom tracks and a number of progressive trance compilations) but she is, in fact, a no-talent hack with few credits outside of those dismal releases.
