drag suits aren't really for casual wear imo, there are several people on my team that train with them and they're really for wearing over your speedo. it's just a training tool

no.

we're not talking competition/performance bathing suits but rather chatting up girls or drinking beer/doing bong rips on teh beach suits; so no to full body suits and also no to banana hammocks or speedo/g-strings for men.

Have you seen the average American? I'm terrified of their thighs. Also, I'm disappointed to see no progress on the womenz front since I last visited and contributed to this thread.

I noticed the Parke & Ronen trunks have a velcro fly, are there any similar fitting trunks with a zip fly?

Look into Penguin.

I just got a pair of their boardshorts with lining, and they fit great. Hit above the knee and have a slim leg, and have a little stretch in the waistband.

Bluefly and Loehmanns have them on discount too.

I'm guessing I'd find little to no solace if the interlocking teeth doing teh peniz mashing were plastic rather than metal.

My only gripe with velcro is awkward shape it takes when sitting down

Just picked up a pair of Peter Millar trunks that cost more than I've ever paid for trunks. Seem pretty well made though.
