Usually , a nice French meal would start with a good mushrooms soup or some cheese .
The main meal could be some beef / roast /charcuterie .
You end up having a dessert .
Oh yea... was about to forget , wine is a must .

Yea that's just completely inaccurate. Cheese as starter? Charcuterie as main? no

True, but what else can one expect from a Louis Vuitton Asian who stacks his jeans?

Is there anyone here that actually is french and grew up in France? Most of these answers don't make sense from my understanding.

Cheese would probably be as an after dinner thing. Obviously cheese can/would be incorporated in the cooked dishes but cheese alone is something eaten after dinner. I also understand that a salad would be served after the meal not before. However this is not what I am after. I want to learn more about common home cooked dishes.

Yes

Maybe because there is no one single answer. Different people, different regions have different customs

What is your question then?

That's fine. I just want to start off with some examples. Tell me what were common dishes for dinner you had growing up in France.

On the top of my head, things my mom used to make often:

Blanquette de veau
Couscous with lamb, chicken and merguez
Osso bucco
Chicken with creamed mushroom sauce
Chicken or veal milanese with spaghetti
Vol au vent
Sauteed chicken livers
Creamed spinach with medium-boiled eggs and ham
Roast chicken
Leg of lamb
Grilled or sauteed lamb chops
Pot au feu
Steak au poivre
Moussaka
Hachis parmentier
Sauteed gambas and scallops
Mussels mariniere
Oven roasted whole fish
Sole meuniere
Paella
Cassoulet
Choucroute
Tajine
Pizza
