^^^ Nothing wrong with non-Swiss watches. My points were aimed at rebalancing reality against fantasy specifically with respect to Grand Seiko.

Of course, if I wanted a non-Swiss watch with a non-Swiss movement, I'd buy American first:

They are supposedly very well made and do last. I'm not into vintage watches but there are many that are still ticking after 50 years.

haha, ok, i've seen the posts on watchuseek and other fora that do point towards chinese movements being fine. but occasionally you see posts about it failing after a few months.....that's all i was getting at.

Ya, I've read them too. QA issue. However Sea-Gull is different as they are the movement maker, watch manufacturer and its own brand. Can't go wrong with them, Beijing or Shanghai... the others, thats a different story.
