I just don't get it. Are the differences between buttons really so important that you'd go out of your way to supply them to your shirtmaker?

I'm not the one giving the buttons a **.

basically same concept as polo shirts with horizontal stripes.

Certainly not to everyone's taste, but nice enough for me.

I'm glad than someone finally had the courage to say it...

Unfortunately in my case yes. I am guilty of it. I am a bit obessive compulsive. Just hope my shirtmaker doesnt kick me to the curb.

Well, I guess I can understand to an extent. We are each more obsessive about certain things than others.

They all are in side vented model with squared bottom meant to be worn casually and usually tucked outside. All 3 have buttondown collars. Ideal for summer in South and West US. All of them go well with summer pants like light colored linens and cottons.

Tutee, love these...would love them even more if they were pullovers, i.e., with a half placket.

I would agree a pullover would be superb, maybe with an inside breast pocket.

Just looking at this thread makes me glad that I'm at the point I call the shirtmaker and say ... pick out a couple of small checks, some stripes, some solids ... some blue ones, some pink ones, a couple of white ones ... make 'em up and send 'em.

agreed 100% and that was the idea to execute them in (fine) knit cloth originally. However, I needed a collar and full sleeves. The biggest problem was no shirtmaker would work with knitted cloth and I could not find a true custom knitwear maker who could make these so I had to think of other ways.

Why didn't you do pattern matching on the collars? It would have made it more sophisticated IMO. All horizontal.
