I'm down with shorts when it's ******* hot out. There's no shame in my leg game. I have some old Express dress pants that fit like **** below the knees (ala Cedric the Entertainer style with leg opening too big) that I am planning on getting tailored into shorts with narrower bottom if it's too wide to introduce some dress shorts into the mix and give it a shot.

I own R&B, Save Khaki, MJK, WWM, and Incotex shorts that I rotate through in the summer. As far as footwear, I usually do some canvas kicks and now have some Spring Court and CP lows that I'll wear. For dressier style/occasion where shorts are still acceptable attire, I wore them with white brick soled bucks last summer in place of my white kicks and liked the look. I actually like the white bucks better with shorts than with pants actually on me at least.

I just put in an order for some fabric to bring one of my short's designs to life.

I'll second the endorsement of Splendid. I also have a pair of white Trovata cord shorts, which I'm so-so about.

Last year Amazon had a few nice-looking DKNY shorts for super cheap. Another budget option to consider.
