I've seen some that looked like this; they were pretty decently sized.

Yeah some are almost as big, but the majority are significantly smaller than the Camper.
BTW That watch is pretty cool. I would pay £80 for it.

Spent the weekend in Vegas and stopped by J Crew for the first time. Was very disappointed with the selection; they had very little of the products in the latest catalogue available and needless to say didn't have the red chambray.

Just curious--how can you tell from the pictures how big they were? And where are we getting the information that the nam watches were smaller than kid's sized watches?

J. Crew in Vegas? Any chance it was an outlet?

I almost picked that one up, too. Felt too heavy, though, for me to wear in spring/summer.

Must just be a poorly stocked store. Some are better than others.

I ended up getting the Timex Camper on amazon this morning. I'm not too worried about it being too small. I checked out the Expedition Camper at Wal-Mart yesterday and I liked the size of it. I'd assume they are the same size. I also love that it's a 24 hour watch. May or may not attempt installation of NATO bands on it. Might just get the other Timex at Wal-Mart and use that one for changing out the bands.

Anyone know how it compares to the J. Crew version? (which is now not even listing small, damnit! should have gotten it when it was)

Several years ago (before I cared enough about fit), I got two shirts from Lucky in size XS. They seem vanity sized, since their XS is bigger than any size small shirt that I own. The shirts are probably somewhere between S and M in J Crew sizing. They could have improved their cuts in the last few years, but I don't expect it.

By the way, I was watching Karate Kid 2 and noticed Ralph Macchio wearing what looked like a red chambray shirt.

No, the Expedition is larger.

Tried the red chambray with my 501 STFs (still dark blue). The look is great.
