I walked at least ten miles throughout Boston the day after I got the cherry gt's--if they broke in at all at that point I couldn't tell.

Oh yeah, I'm not sure how much my shoe polish contributed but after adding up many hours worth of buffing the uppers have managed to become glossy and stay that way. I found that with enough buffing you can also make crease marks disappear. There is one permanent scuff mark on the toe that was made very early on before applying leather preservative or the polish, so it seems that the sooner you do these things, the more likely your wear on the shoe will be reversible.

Just thought I'd post a quick pick of my GT's. Got them about a week ago cuz somebody ordered them from my store (i work at Schnee's boots and shoes in Bozeman), but they were to large for them. They happened to fit me perfectly (wear 8.5 clarks db's, these are 8's) so I decided to go for it. Gotta love employee discount. Toes got scuffed today in the machining shop on campus, but nothing a little polish/conditioner can't take care of.

Did you add an insole? Do you wear boot socks? These things make a world of difference.

The point is that some people may have different experiences than you with the same product. Maybe you have skinny-ass feet. A wider foot would require a longer break-in period, especially so with GT's.
