I've just ordered some new chinos and was wondering if I should cuff them.
What is you take on it and why ?

I find that cuffing the UK has gone seriously out of style. I'm not sure I've ever seen someone under 50 with cuffed chinos.

Mine are not, but I don't really cuff anything. That said, even if I did cuff other pants, I don't think I would cuff chinos.

I've always had between 1 3/4" to 2" cuffs on my chinos for the last 5 or 6 years so. I think I just like the added weight.

I have most of mine cuffed at 2", which works perfect for me. I also have a couple pairs that are not cuffed, so I can wear them with more casual shoes, such as my Jack Purcels.

If you like the look, go for it. Cuffed trousers is a classic look that falls in and out of popular favor. Cuffs were common several years ago in combination with pleated trousers, including chinos. No more. A cleaner look has become dominant -- narrower legs, clean lines, little or no break, no pleats and NO cuffs. But cuffs will be back. Why? Because they are classic!

Personally, I like cuffed trousers once in a while, to break up the monotony and to show a little individuality -- and it can look great in combination with the pleatless narrow chinos that are currently in favor.

One possible indicator that it will be sooner rather than later: Many people seem to love rolling their narrow pant legs up right now, so a cuff would be just a cleaner, neater extension of that look.

Cuffs on dress pants = keep the structure, traditional style, etc.,
Cuffs on chinos = "My pants are too long + I am too lazy to have it shortened -> I cuff them"

Some of mine are ... but given that they serve as my "jeans" ... I'm not sure why I had them cuffed. After working in the yard ... they are full of debris.

I basically treat chinos as a summerweight (and slightly dressier) equivalent to jeans. I don't cuff jeans and so I don't cuff chinos. I reserve cuffs for dressy odd trousers, or for a casual suit if I should ever get one.

I probably have 5 Incotex chinos of different textures and weights, two are cuffed, 3 are not. I recently got those 2 cuffed because of Vox and PG's big cuffs on WAYWN. Also just ordered some C&J Lowndes for the same reason.
