I agree with this. I find Gold to be a somewhat muted version of Black, with a little more sweetness thrown in. I'm not a big fan of Gold.

I'm drinking some Hudson Single Malt now. Pine fresh.

I'm going to go for a quick 2 mile run. Then I will shower and eat. Afterwards, I am going to read a good book late into the night and drink numerous old fashioneds. Monday (tomorrow), I have the whole day free!

No wonder I enjoy single malts.

Although ... after a gay friend suggested that Laphroaig tasted oh so peaty ... like a crusty old jock strap ... that put me off Laphroaig for quite a few years.

Black is the house brand (for blended) here. If gold or blue is to be found in the liquor cabinet (the locked one to which few have access) ... it was a gift.

Oh ... BTW ... at the moment I'm drinking coffee.

I wouldn't know what a jock strap, crusty or otherwise, tastes like so I'll have to take your word.

Unoaked Chardonnay and used condoms have the same smell, caused by the same chemical, I was once told by a biology professor.

Neither did I when it comes to crusty old ones ... but it sounded unappitizing.

What sports cause a jockstrap to become peaty? Caber tossing

?

My wife discovered Laphroaig through my ordering it occasionally. She says it tastes like a fireplace on a cold night. Perhaps they are burning jockstraps in the fireplace.
