Let me preface this by saying I looooved to drive my E46 M3. But finally got rid of it. (Bought it new). Tons of maintenance/repairs. Partial list:

- Xenon headlamp went out.
- Both window moldings came unglued.
- Passenger window wouldn't seal every time you shut the door. Had to lower and raise window--pain in the neck. This problem was never solved by BMW.
- Right door lock went defective.
- Rain sensing wipers defective.
- Driver side leather seat came unstitched.
- Sunroof cover broke (moonroof).
- Stereo not operable with rear defroster.
- Defective exterior temperature sensor.

Strangely, I never experienced the sub-frame problem. Maybe the next owner will...

I'll never buy another BMW outside of a warranty period. Had mine nearly 5 years, and drove it less than 8,000 miles per year.

You've got to worry about:
-interior trim cracking
-window seals coming unglued (they finally fixed this)
-hvac panel failing
-alternator failing twice
-coils going bad
-plastic cooling system components failing
-muffler hangers tearing
-dimming mirror failing
-sub-frame issues
-front strut tower issues
-oil leak from constant pressure valve

off the top of my head

Maybe if you actually took care of your car, you wouldn't have any of these problems.

50k miles on mine, 1 year out of warranty... never had a single problem other than the alternator.

Smart man and ya didn't mention two xenon bulbs, door lock actuator, and a couple andre mentioned. Luckily I don't have a moonroof or that shade would have broke too LOL!

^^^The interiors on those cars were rather bland, but they did seem to hold up very well.

My shade was broken, but that was related to intra-car acrobatics with my wife. So, can't blame BMW.

LOL!

Hate to break it to you voxy but you weren't my first or last. My last girl almost pierced my passenger door panel with the heel on her louboutin.
