Serious question, is a knit cap acceptable headwear with a suit as in the pics below
I think so. I've seen a lot of people wearing knit caps with suits, just like these men in the pictures, and they look(ed) great.
When I lived in Chicago, colder than any place in Italy, I wore a rag wool cap with
a pom pom with a medium gray greatcoat.

Sterling is offended by people that don't dress like young republicans. I think he's German but I guess this mindset is contagious.

Only for Italians/hipsters/children, otherwise get yourself a fur felt fedora or a tweed/wool/cashmere flat cap.

Young Republicans are not too far removed from certain German mindsets (cue Cravate_Noire).

That is the way it's traditionally worn.

I guesssss...I just find it weird to criticize a picture for lacking something that is actually quite prominently displayed.

I'm amazed at how well those outfits look in motion....I'd love for all my pants to fit like that.

I must have been a bit vague. What I meant: I don't think the photo was taken while they were walking. They must be standing there like this since 1964. That was the time they had their final fitting on the trousers. More directly: The pants are to tight IMO. Maybe it's their way of playing with proportions, what do I know. I guess, Fuuma is needed to analyse the photo for us non-intellectuals.

For all we know, Stirling Gilette might have short, fat, stumpy legs and it is just plain envy on his part!

I think this pic deserves its own thread but I have been accused of starting 'copious' amounts of threads, so posting it here.
