In high school I had a pair of olive cotton plus-fours...Italian Army surplus.

The knees were padded. Perfect for praying or surrendering, I thought at the time.

Now, of course, padded knees bring to mind the slogan of a long-closed downtown leather bar called The Altar:

"Confess. Kneel. Worship."

well I kind of had the same experience in high school. I had a nice pair of pants in a fabulous fabric that had a vertical zipper on the backpanel. I thought this was intended to facilitate going to the toilet etc. Little did I know it was meant to facilitate the entrance of a PenOr in my rear end. The brand of the pants: Catamite, should have alerted me to this but at that time my knowledge of the greek language was only in its puerile phase.

This is just way too much plaid. I can't imagine it looking good on even the best looking guy on earth.

As Manton might say, that's a jacketing cloth, not a suiting one.

I like his jackets and I think he pulls off bowties well.
