I can't quite figure out what the unique purpose of a design resembling a toad with an extraordinarily large butt entails, but maybe you have a point. Who knows.

I don't mind the Porsche from the front. I saw the first photo and thought it wasn't that much different from looking at a photo of a Cayman and a DB9.

Then I saw the second pic and was sick in my mouth.

Shame as I'm sure it's actually an excellent car, ruined in many people's eyes by ugly styling. I'd much rather have an M5, which itself looked ugly at first (and still is, compared to the E39).

I prefer the look of the Quattroporte to the Aston and definitely to the Panamera.
I am sure the performance of the Aston's V12 is superior though.

I doubt it. It has more cylinders and about a liter of extra displacement, but it isn't turbocharged. The Panamera Turbo's tubocharged V8 makes more horsepower and significantly more torque (500 vs. 476 and 516 vs. 443, respectively), yet the Rapide is only a hair lighter (4299 vs. 4343 lbs.). To seal the deal, the Panamera's torque peaks at 2,250 rpm--the Rapide needs to get up to 5000 rpm to peak. Horsepower in both cars peaks at 6000 rpm. Based on the numbers, the Panamera Turbo is the clear winner in terms of acceleration and speed. EDIT: It seems like the Rapide is testing at 0-60mph in 5.1-5.2 seconds. The Panamera Turbo has tested as fast as 0-60mph in 3.3 seconds (!!!), but 3.7 seconds seems to be the more common number.

I'd much rather be going slow in an Aston than fast in that Porsche.

You've got to see the cars in RL, everything else is just speculation. I didn't like the pictures of the Panamera, but when I saw it on the street I liked it very much. That said, I'm acutually disappointed but the Rapide's stats, they should've given it the DBS motor.
