Today: 1940s vintage red/black plaid Emergency Garment jacket. HEAVY wool. Odd sized pockets at chest (one small, one large). Backwards pockets on the back, like if someone was standing in front of you, they could slip their hands in there and hug you. Maybe this was in case you were freezing in the woods and had to have body heat to survive. I have to post pix of this. It is too cool.Originally Posted by Robert

I was trying to show some of the details. that's all. The weird/interesting thing to me about this garment is the pockets arrangment. 1-the odd-matched chest pockets and 2-the backwards pockets on the back side.
Heavy ass jacket, by the way. Very heavy wool. Nicely lined. I dunno. Just a lot of details I find interesting. Fits well. It's marked as a 48 but fits like a 44. Then again, it was made in the 40s.
