They are not for everyone stylewise but do give them a listen.

I love it too. I have the neon green with a red felt mat. As the guys at Audio Alternative in Lilburn said when they installed the cartridge "that is the ugliest freaking record player I've ever seen," but I love it!

As to the other half of the topic, what I wish I had?

college budget system i've had for 3 years now

marantz 1060 in pristine condition, partially restored.
polk r150

once i graduate i'll look into better speakers and a turntable but this has been bulletproof for parties with a little supplemental bass.

HT dedicated with remote lighting (scones+can lights) / leather semi circle recliner seating for 5, room has separate entry from outside via stairs or corridor from 1st floor of home, isolated with double doors for sound insulation ie I dont wake the rest of the house up. Separate 4 ton A/C and heat unit with 8 vents in room to freeze or heat it in minutes.
Its been 3 years since I bought the equipment, did all the HDMI lines/cables runs etc, and not much into it except watching a movie every 2 weeks or so.

Panasonic PJ
Wolf 108+" screen
Pioneer Elite Reciever
EAD PM driving front 3 speakers.
Divas 601s
Oppo DVD player.
SVS Ultra sub.
Matte black ceiling/Matte brown wall.

Regards.

^^ I've read that a lot of people (that aren't hardcore nerds) that build dedicated theater rooms don't use them as much as they thought they would because they tend to be built in caves in the basement, sealed off from the rest of the house and family.

Actually its very accessible as its right next to the family room, on the 1st floor. Its just a matter of dedicating 2 or so hours to one activity i.e. a movie. We have 3 young kids, and both of us have long work hours, and the little free time we like to interact with kids. A movie every couple of weeks is a lot for us and pretty good use IMO. Regards.

I think this is true for a lot of people. I think for some it is also, sadly, just a status symbol rather than something that gets used frequently.

Are all Phono amps have the same schematics just like all power amps?
I am looking into PS Audio phono as well as Phonomena II and it seems the only difference is a number of adjustments between these two and my basic Rotel Phono.
I need to sort this dillema.
