It's part of the SF holy trinity. Moo-in-socks/FNB's technicolor dreamcoat/A&S disaster.

edit: I must admit I have almost no idea what's going on in this thread, nor did I read it. BUT, that usually happens with anything involving FNB.

Welcome to this thread.

You're very Waspish for a son of Chinese immigrants but we're all influenced by our direct environment making you more American than Chinese.

Anyway,Nothing is surprising me anymore since I have met black skinheads 20 years ago.

West Coast Matt likes fizzy water. Not sure about ice, though.

Don't forget the names they stole we need back, like Lance, Bruce or Julian.

Since HK cannot survive without Kowloon (no water on HK Island, for instance), the Brits had no choice but to make a deal.

What this has to do with anything I have no idea.

Allow me an attempt to make the connection with the help of Wikipedia's entry for the Treaty of Peking.

On 18 October 1860, at the culmination of the Second Opium War, the British and French troops entered the Forbidden City in Beijing. Following the decisive defeat of the Chinese, Prince Gong was compelled to sign two treaties on behalf of the Qing government with Lord Elgin and Baron Gros, who represented Britain and France respectively.

The area known as Kowloon was originally leased in March 1860. The Convention of Peking ended the lease, and ceded the land formally to the British on 24 October 1860.

Article 6 of the Convention between China and the United Kingdom stipulated that China was to cede the part of Kowloon Peninsula south of present day Boundary Street, Kowloon, and Hong Kong (including Stonecutters Island) in perpetuity to Britain.

Here's Prince Gong, photographed by Felice Beato, 2 November 1860, just days after he signed the treaty on the 24 Oct. 1860.

Note the chest area of the Prince's robe. I believe you'll agree that, yes indeed, he was......... a drapist!
