Tom may have some Ultimate Indy's in stock but I am not sure as I did not see a recent post on his page. I pre-ordered mine and recieved them a couple of weeks back and love them. I would shoot Tom an email. If possible I would buy one of these from Tom since from my understanding he started the recent trend.

Also shoemart is great to deal with.

Why are the chromexcel Indys $450 on shoemart but other retailers that are expecting their shipment in next month are quoting cheaper?

I'm sure you are paying to have them first. I ordered mine from Leffot, a store that is relatively new, and they are due in mid-Feb. ShoeMart has been selling Aldens for a long time successfully; I'm sure they got first dibs, and, probably, rightfully so (from all the positive reviews I've seen of their operation). So, Alden hooks them up because they've been selling Aldens for a long time, and selling them well.

Because those aren't the 403s.

Not the case.

Amazing Chukkas.

On a side note, I'm looking for a pair of Alden boots that would go with a suit as well as denim.

I was thinking #8 shell ptb or cap toe although I'm not sure #8 works with a dark suit. Anyone have any pics?

My new ALDEN for WinnPerry was waiting for me on my bed after a long day of work. I am pretty pleased overall with them, but was almost disappointed when i first opened the box. I think they do actually look good in day light though!

I know these are supposed to be casual boots so I'll be wearing with my jeans for the most part, but how do they look with a suit?

Need some sizing help.
Wear the following sizes:
9 in Nikes
7.5/8 in Cole Haans depending on style
40 in Buttero work boots
8 in Chucks (can we a 7.5 but kinda tight)

What size would I take in the Indy boots or unlined Chukka boots?

Any insight is greatly appreciated.

more important than the shoe is the last it's on. I think you want to get a baseline of some standard US dress shoe, then work off that with the below information. your Cole Haan dress shoe is probably your best bet, closest to 'standard US size"

from Alden of Carmel

Leydon last - fits approximately like a standard US size
Plaza last - slightly longer than regular U.S. size
Aberdeen last - slightly longer than regular U.S. size
Van last - 1/4 to 1/2 size larger than regular U.S. size
Barrie last - about 1/2 size larger than regular U.S. size (U.S. size 10 = Barrie last size 9 1/2)
Trubalance last - about 1/2 size larger than regular U.S. size (U.S. size 10 = Trubalance size 9 1/2)
Modified last - at least 1/2 size larger than regular U.S. size (U.S. size 10 = Modified last size 9 1/2)
