Good to be God, Tibor Fischer.
British loser gets chance to stand in for a sales rep friend visiting Miami and decides to stay on and re-invent himself. Very funny and well written.

Just got done with The Elegant Universe... again.

I am feeling a little nostalgic so, i think I may breeze through Lord of the Flies(One of the few non-science based books I can actually read) I don't know what is with me I just really don't care for novels or and fiction type books. I would rather read an entire Chemistry textbook than Jan Eyre, Ulysses, etc. I suppose I am just a boring person.

One of my favorite areas of interest is the art auction market and this book has some interesting anecdotes and quotes. But it's only a half step above He's Just Not That Into You in the hierarchy of tasteful nonfiction.

I also read this one a while back and was entertained.

Lenin's Tomb by David Remnick.

It is quite the change of pace from Tom Wolfe.

I will eventually review everything for the 50BC.

I just looked at almost every fiction book in my local book store and none of them was twisted enough for me to buy. I have such a picky taste in books. If there not weird/controversial I dont want to read them.

Just finished The Great Gatsby, so I'm sliding right into the depression era with The Grapes of Wrath.

I'm trying to make up for my evidently worthless high school and college literature classes.

Loved Gatsby. It's so pretty to read and colors are flying off the page into my brain. But the dialogue in The Grapes of Wrath is (thus far) so great for me. I grew up in rural, farming communities and this is bringin' me back home.
