ROUND 2:

Looks like I've got the fit this time. Next time I'll probably shorten the sholders 1/2 inch and lengthen the sleeves 1/2 inch. I might make the armholes smaller too. The fabric is thin but really beautiful 200s thread count. I have not washed the shirt yet.

The collar is
Collar / Collar Lining Cut Away / Stiff
Removable Collar Stay Yes

Since I ordered, moderntailor.com added new collar styles.

Fabric is
White plain / X200 /

Previous shirt fabric was
Small White herringbone

Neither fabrics are available anymore.

ROUND ONE

Here we go again... This is from moderntailor.com. The construction is quite good, and the fabric is thicker than I expected.

But... I seem to have gotten the sizing quite wrong. It seems like the shoulders and sleeves need another inch, maybe chest too. The length needs about two inches. The collar is much larger than I expected. I wouldn't get this collar again. Any other comments?

Sleeves are way short! The collar is one of the things that look good. Send it back if you can. If not, just turn up the cuff of the sleeves and use it as a wkend shirt or give it away.

Yes sleeves are too short. Custom white shirts are best and worth the extra $

Have you washed it? Mytailor shirts shrink quite a bit after washing.

That is the solution. Maybe the sleeves will shrink enought so that it looks like a short sleeve shirt! Not much to go.

The shoulders are not only short, but uneven. The sleeves are obviously short.

I know you posted critiques before but were you measured in person? I like the collar. Joe makes the shirts because he figures they are sent out by his clients and washed in warm/hot water. When i met Joe i told i only wash in cold and do them myself. He supposedly made adjustments. Been 8 weeks and now been told delayed another 2 weeks.

Thanks for all of the responses. Yes I totally realized the sleeves were too short (duh). The neck fits, but the collar is a bit big for my liking. I measured myself. This took about two weeks total time. I'm not sure why it's taking you so long badsha.

I haven't washed it. I will keep it and wear it with the sleeves rolled up when it's warmer. I'm just trying to figure out how much to let out the measurements for the next order. I bought it with the coupon so it only cost me $20 shipped. I figured it would need some tweaking.

Oops I just realized I got it from moderntailor.com not mytailor.com

I'm adding an inch to the shoulders and length and two inches to the sleeves. This should fix the sleeve length. I'm adding half an inch to the chest and waist. Does that sound good?

Hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks like you need more than an inch on the shoulders--probably more like two.

Thanks for the input. I'll add two inches to the shoulders and sleeves.

Taking your own measurements or relying on forum members' interpretations of on-line photos is risky and not really the best idea. Have a tailor or even the alterations lady at the dry cleaner take your measurements. Give her/him a nice tip. Having said that, it looks to me like you need to add more than two inches to the sleeves. Shirts shrink !
