Edward Green 82 Last?

You might be better in a UK8D or UK8E. Imo, UK8.5E will be too big.

I am a uk8 on 606 and uk9 on 888 (fairly wide fee). Any suggestion for 82 last size i.e uk8 or uk8.5? Thanks.

Take it for what it's worth, the only EGs I own are on the 82 last, where I'm a 9/9.5E. On all other shoes I'm anywhere from a 8.5E to 9D UK. So maybe try a half size up from your normal size.Originally Posted by mth

How does the 82 last compare to the 888? I am solidly an 8/8.5D in the 888. In the 888 a 8.5/9D works with thick socks and tongue patch. I know that a 7.5/8D would not work in the 888. Any thoughts on whether a 7.5/8D in the 82 might work?

I've been told the 82 and 888 fit similarly.

^ Bris, keep in mind that EG makes no distinction between US and UK as far as width fittings are concerned, i.e. 82 and 888 shoes in the same size/width should fit the same.

I am between 11.5 and 12 on length and exactly A on width using the Brannock device. The one EG that I have is on the 82 and it is 11.5/12 B. The length is fine but the fit is slightly tight in the toes. Not that I can't wear them but if I had a do over, I would get one size wider. I can't speak for sizing and fit for wider feet but to me the angular nature of the last in the toe area is where the sizing issue arises, not in the length.

Now that my shoe taste has been moved a bit by the amount of shoe Appreciation around, I normally wear a 8.5E in EG. My best fitting last is the 202 and 606. The 888 works and is the right length.
I have several in the 82 last. A bit longer but not so much that I size down. However I see this as a pigeon toed last and don't really like it much and won't buy in that last again. The front of the shoe turns inward too much for my taste.
I probably could follow conventional wisdom and wear a 8E in JH 8000 last but don't. Still taking an 8.5E but those do fit a bit more "comfortably" than my EGs.
This is across about 15-20 pair.
There is nothing like experience or at least flying to Hawaii and trying them on.
