The pot pie is awesome, the lobster is incredible. The doughnuts are actually a much better dessert than what you got. It's all good though. Hard to make a wrong choice.

Yeah, the pot pie was insane and am glad there were three of us so we could swap for it from the vegetarian menu; we were passing around some stuff, so I got to enjoy the last third of it. I got stuck with the apple crisp since my friends went for the doughnuts, but it was a partial win since one of them was full and could only eat half, so I got to finish it off.

The doughnut dish is definitely the better of the two. Why must Cyrus be such a drive?!

The best part about the pot pie is adding truffles to it. 99% of the time, if you order truffles at Cyrus, it shows up as a whole mushroom at your table and gets shaved, as you well know. And 99% of the time, if there is a pot pie on the menu, it is made before service and baked off to order. But, if you get the black truffle pot pie and want extra truffle, they actually put it on the inside before baking it, so the heat really emphasizes the flavor and once you pop the crusty top of the pie, it all comes spilling out. It is absolutely ridiculously insanely good.

Yep, I definitely still hate you that you work there.

Starting to get bored with local food now...

You've no idea how envious I am of you. It's so hard to get really good Vietnamese food here, particularly with the non-Pho variety, despite a boatload (pun intended) of Vietnamese in the Northern Virginia/DC area.

Pio, you will be there the 27th? Yours will not be the best meal served in California that night, alas.
