Does anyone actually pay full price for neck ties?

Oddly enough, for a long time the only ties I paid full price for were knit ties, because nice ones were hard to come by on sale in the US

I've never paid full price and don't plan on it.

I have about 50 ties and I've only paid full price for 1 tie; my only Sam Hober. I'll definitely pay full price for another Sam Hober, but for now I'm content with buying 10 ties on clearance at Century 21 during their sales.

Not typically, but I would. Especially if I ever were to order bespoke from Cappelli...and I'm really tempted to do so for some wool ties.

I have 15 odd ties and I have never paid full retail for almost 90% of them. I wouldn't have qualms paying full price for something I really want though...

I would probably pay full price for a Kent Wang tie, but knowing that so many are out there to be had for deep discounts, and being somewhat short of gobs of money, I generally can't bring myself to pay full price.

could i ask why?

Likely because some find them somewhat garish and kitchy - as if the only point they are favored is to say "Look, I have a HÃ

rmes tie." While some enjoy HÃ

rmes, I find their tie patterns to be the men's equivalent of Louis Vuitton logo purses. But this is the opinion of a man who cannot afford HÃ

rmes ties, so take it as jealousy, if you will.
