I don't need help choosing a wife. And I don't currently have a potential wife. (See OP.) Edit: Here's the question... When should a dude start dating with the intention of getting hitched as opposed to getting laid?

Getting married prior to this happening means he was pushed into the biggest commitment of his life for reasons that are not his own, and that doesn't bode well for success.

I think for some guys the above never happens, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Well said sir.

I dated my highschool sweetheart for a total of 4-4.5 years before I popped the question. We were married for a a total of 1.5ish before she cheated and we got divorced.

Point is, if you feel that you and this person were made for each other and both feel the same way, get married. They offer divorces for a reason

This may sound like crazy talk but how about when he fuckin' wants to start dating with the intention of getting hitched as opposed to getting laid.

When you're done having fun being single and doing/seeing the things you want to do.

A man is always dating to get laid. It just so happens that he sometimes finds someone he'd like to spend the rest of his life with. Then he gets married.

30.

for me it was a simple switch, one day all I cared about was getting laid, the next it was all about getting married. I am very happy with the timing, too.
