I think all the DB suits posted in this thread are hideous. I dislike the style in general (full disclosure), but if you must go down that avenue I think it can look quite respectable if the two columns of buttons aren't too far apart -- I still abhor those extra buttons splayed on the upper chest . Prada F/W '09 came as close to doing "desirable" (to me) DB suits as anybody, but I still don't like them much and would never buy one. S/S '10 included lots of two-button DB suits which I actually like because they're so unconventional, they avoid those silly "nipple buttons" and the lapels don't look like something out of an old Scorsese movie. And honestly, having a ticket pocket on a DB suit (Denzel) is just too much going on.

Those Prada are really slick. I've been looking online but can't find any Prada DB anwhere -- any idea where to find Prada DB? thanks

the reason why they look crap in north america is because lets face it guys north american men DO NOT KNOW how to dress.SF members excluded of course.
i was in PARIS and the fooking men over there look better then the women (dress wise i mean im a big fan of the ****** thank you very much)
they really dress to the nines over there,or go to rome or Milan for that matter...and then go to manhattan and look at all the bad fitting suits running around there (usually with a stain on the tie to boot)
i also saw David Beckham rock a DB (get it DB=David Beckham ,oh forget it) in a billboard or a mag or something cant remember what,but he endorses Armani so im assuming its a Giorgio,and it looked mint,but again it was very tapered.

The cut is way better than Denzel's (he looks so wide!), the pockets seem a tad smaller, it definitely helps that they aren't slanted, any maybe the lighter colors helps somehow? I can't really put my finger on it -- I was going to say the lapels are narrower but they look about the same width as Denzel's, so maybe then it's the length of the suit? Either way I still hate the top two buttons, and I think the whole jacket would look much cleaner if they were simply removed from the original design. Do DB suits always and invariably have peak lapels?

i believe the pic of Denzel is from American Gangster,and he was quite heavy,i thing around 220-230 so maybe thats why he looks wide,because he is wide(er) then usual?

I enjoy 4x1s almost as much as 6x2s. Disagree that the jacket looks cleaner w/o them - I think the 6x2 looks more balanced.

They should based on the military lineage. Other lapels are bastardizations. If you saw a notch lapel DB it would look silly. I recently saw that Twilight vampire kid in a shawl lapel DB and he looked silly.

Still have my DB Pierre Cardin from 20 years ago and I will probably wear it to the grave.

DB Charcoal Black is awesome. Hope they make a serious comeback.

I think every fashion related magazine I've scanned through the past 6 months have hinted that DB is gonna be the IT suit, I'm confident the mainstream will start filling retail spaces with them.
