Meanwhile, an earlier project: an I-don't-know-what-to-call-it-in-English for a baby, made from two old linen shirts of mine.

Now that's going green. You should be featured on some style/fashion show on the Earth channel or something.

Bravo!

(Thanks.)

But seriously: I think she's already paying attention to colours, patterns and fabrics, so I think she will appreciate nice clothes in the future.

My girlfriend grew up in "custom" clothing, made by her mother, too. This way, she learned to apreciate the work someone puts in a unique and handmade garment.

Make sure to supply her with some Fresco for the summer heat.

This is insane. Imagine a scene in kindergarden: "What, no shanked and crowfoot-stitched buttons on your dress? Don't you read Styleforum?"

Yes, I can imagine that. I´m learning from it too.

The 350D is getting old. I've taken more than 20,000 photos with it, so the shutter is wearing out. Next one will probably be a 50D (or 60 or 70); lately, suits and shoes seem to come first...

I think you'll be a digital guy the moment you start using a digital camera...

Good one. She already has a couple of cotton coats for spring/summer.

Meanwhile another older project: a spring/summer coat. This time no dissection of any of my garments, but hopefully still interesting to see.

NOBD, you and your GF's projects never cease to amaze. Really cool stuff here. Makes me want to ask my mom for her old Sewing machine!

NOBD, can you explain the picture of the sewing machine with the settings? You just set it to the buttonhole setting (#16 I believe) and it stitches that design for you?

I kept hoping that your girlfriend would turn out to be a little old Italian man and we'd get to see her (him) knock out some handmade buttonholes. That would have brought the house down.

I was hoping that for my sake, not yours, of course.

Fantastic project, btw.

I like this newer pictures better that the others.

As I told you it looked too sinister for children but this other POW seems better.

Your daughter is lucky man!
